An ancient city situated on the Via Emilia.
It was conquered by the Romans 2000 years ago. In 1300, at the time of the Manfredi family, it became a centre of Art and Culture thanks to the exchanges made with theMedici family of Florence.
In 1500 the artistic “majolica” ceramics of Faenza became famous all over Europe It is home to the “International Museum for Ceramics”.
During the month of June the different areas of the town compete in the famous Palio named the “ Palio del Niballo”.
Ancient medieval town and spa town famous for its three chalk hills on which were built the: Rocca manfrediana, dating back to 1300, the Clock tower and the Sanctuary of Monticino.
The town is made up of a maze of small streets, walls and stairways sculptured in chalk.
It is dominated by the ancient and unique “Via degli Asini” a street with porticos that was once refuge for the donkeys.
Medieval festivals are held at the end of June and beginning of July.
